Last weekend, two girlfriends and I road tripped to Pismo Beach to celebrate my friend Jessica’s birthday. We explored so much in our short trip – It definitely makes me want to do more weekend getaways and get back to Pismo.
We’re all planners, and we did our research to make sure we’d get the most out of our time.
A Fun Weekend in Pismo: Where To Eat, Play, Relax, and Stay
Our first stop was in San Luis Obispo to have lunch at Luna Red. This place is so good and has the most adorable outside patio. We ordered ceviche, tacos, rosemary olive bread with chili-garlic dipping oil (OMG so bomb), camarones y ajillo, and eggs benedict…so pretty much the entire menu.

After lunch we headed to our hotel to check-in and get in some beach time. We stayed at the Cottage Inn by the Sea which had the most amazing views and was right on the water. We had to walk down a rocky path to get to the beach – which was quite challenging in sandals, but worth it. The hotel also has fire pits over looking the water so we spent some time Sunday morning watching sunrise, listening to the seals and watching little bunnies run around the garden.
What To Do in Pismo Beach This Weekend: Best Activities, Beaches & More!
After the beach we were so ready to relax at Sycamore Mineral Springs Resort. Jessica had mentioned this place when we were planning and she really wanted to do rent one of the hot tubs. When Anam and I called to book we found out they had an Oasis Waterfall Lagoon which looked pretty amazing, but typically requires a 6 person minimum. Since we definitely wanted something private we decided to rent out the Oasis for the 3 of us and surprised Jessica when we arrived. It was so beautiful and SO relaxing. The Oasis has two waterfalls and it’s heated. We went around 6pm so It started to get dark and was so peaceful under the stars.
We finished up at Sycamore Springs around 7pm and had our dinner reservation at Oyster Loft. This place is literally out of this world and the service is incredible! If you like seafood you NEED to check it out. Jessica and I both got the scallops and agreed they were the best we’ve ever had. We also got these ahi jalapeño poppers with creme cheese and spicy mayo, oysters, cocktails and the caramel basket dessert to finish off the night.
Thanks for dropping by! Xo
