Happy Monday! I woke up this morning and meditated for the first time ever. It was a little challenging to keep my mind focused on the mantra instead of thinking about everything I needed to do today, but I felt so much more inspired and encouraged after the 20-minute session. I’m going to try it again tomorrow and see how it goes. This morning’s session was focused on fulfillment – and it’s exactly what I needed to hear in that moment.
Today I wanted to share some things that I need to hear from time to time and I hope they resonate with you today. 🙂

Be present.
We have hundreds of distractions daily. It’s hard to stay focused or be completely present in a world of push notifications and instant everything. We’re always dreaming of the weekend, our upcoming vacation, or even someone else. While it’s great to have something to look forward to, we often forget that the moment we’re in is all we’re promised. We’re all victims of spending hours on Instagram looking at someone’s highlight reel that we forget to live our own life. Take some time for yourself. Listen to music, meditate, or think about your feelings, dreams, goals. Give every day the chance to become the most beautiful of your life.
Never settle in love or in life.
There’s no reason in the world why your life shouldn’t be amazing and your love shouldn’t be extraordinary. Every decision is a choice. So often we choose to stay in situations that don’t satisfy us, whether that be a job or a relationship, because it’s what’s easy or because we’re scared of change. If something in your life isn’t fully satisfying you, change it. You have every right to be picky here. Don’t settle for anybody, just so you can have somebody.
It’s OK if you don’t have a plan.
Or control. You don’t have to have everything figured out to move forward. The most successful people in life didn’t plan on being successful. This is the hardest thing for me to grasp sometimes – I’m so type A and plan every single thing. Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned, but that doesn’t mean you’ve failed. Life is 10% what happens to us and 90% how we react. I used to think that if I had everything planned out then I’d never fail. This is the most damaging mindset to have and it will leave you feeling miserable.
Talk about your dreams and your feelings.
Talk about your feelings and then talk about them some more. Being vulnerable makes you stronger. Sharing your dreams holds you accountable. People used to tell me that I was too sensitive, too emotional, I cared too much. Truth is, they didn’t care enough. Surround yourself with people that feel your feelings and believe in your dreams. Being empathic is such a beautiful trait. Don’t ever feel like you’re too much for someone. You’re just enough.
You’re going to fail.
And that’s OK. Because there’s really no such thing as failure – it’s just life trying to move us in another direction. You will never achieve success if you don’t make a few wrong choices every now and then. Success doesn’t come without failure, it’s all part of the process. We need to refocus our mindset and not let the failure have the glory of keeping us down after knocking us down. Get back up, learn, correct, and repeat.
