I know, I know. Who has time to make their bed? I get it. Growing up, we were always told me to make our beds. I hated it. I would carelessly pull up the duvet and call it a day – admittedly, I still do this sometimes.
Twenty years later, a task that seemed so meaningless now brings me so much joy. Seriously, hear me out. I’m not saying making the bed is fun, but it is a great way to start your day. How many tasks do you have that take less than 2 minutes to complete and leave you feeling good? I’ve never made my bed and thought, “Oh, crap – that was a mistake.”
Making your bed every morning teaches you discipline, patience, and allows you to start your day off on a good note, having already completed a task within the first few minutes of being awake. There have been so many times when I was having a bad day and came home, walked into a neatly made bed and everything just felt right. Coming home to a clean house and a bedroom you’re excited about makes such a difference. The little things matter.
If you want to be inspired, watch this video. I saw it a few years ago and think about it every morning when I make my bed.
In our new apartment, the bedroom is the first room you see when you walk in. I knew the bed would be the focal point of the room, and I wanted it to look inviting and clean. I was so excited to partner with Brook Linen to make our bed look cozy, relaxing, and extra luxurious without the high price. I’m not kidding you when I say these sheets are the most comfortable sheets I’ve ever laid on. They’re more luxurious than some of the hotel beds we’ve stayed in and I always look forward to coming home to them.
I picked out the Luxe sheet bundle and the All-Season Down Comforter. I’m also a huge fan of the Linen Set but want to wait until we switch out the bed.
