November in Isla Mujeres, Mexico

For my 26th birthday my friend Christina and I ventured to Mexico. We were looking for a quick getaway to somewhere relaxing and warm. Isla Mujeres seemed like the perfect place. We stayed at Mia Reef for 4 days and then stayed in Cancun at The Pyramid @ Grand Oasis for 2 nights. From Cancun we took the Ultramar Ferry to Isla Mujeres. We had so much fun breaking up the trip like this. Disconnecting was super important to us and we knew we wanted to relax for the majority of the trip, but also wanted to explore the more busy/touristy parts of Cancun since neither of us had ever been before. We met so many people who would come to the island for a day trip, but I would definitely recommend staying there for a few days depending on what type of trip you’re looking for – it’s absolutely gorgeous.

Originally, we were wanting to book at Casa de los Suenos, but they didn’t have availability during our dates. Note that Mia Reef is located on the northern part of the island, and most of the things to do on Isla are located on the southern tip. We didn’t mind this since the entire island is only about 5 miles long and super easy to explore via cab or moped/golf cart, which are all easy accessible. Mia Reef itself feels like you’re on your own private island which was such an incredible experience.
