I love getting older. Seriously. Every year I grow up a little more, gain knowledge, make new friends, create new memories and experience exciting adventures. I truly look forward to it. But with age comes the inevitable wrinkles and lack of firmness in our skin.
I definitely prefer being preventive over reactionary so I try to do everything I can for my skin to help slow the aging process.
The Tight’N Cryogenic by Kate Somerville is literally a game changer. I added this to my nighttime routine a few weeks ago and I can already tell a difference in the firmness of my skin. I wanted to talk through some of my favorite and not so favorite things about this product.
Texture
I love the texture. It’s super foamy and feels very cool (literally, it’s cold) and refreshing on the skin. I love the cooling sensation because I can feel my skin instantly getting firmer. It’s like rubbing a cold spoon under your eyes on those super sleepy mornings. Has anyone done that? It’s one of my favorite feelings!
Smell
The smell is pretty bad. I’m a big fan of natural products that have earthy/floral smells. This product does smell a bit chemical-like for me. However, I have continued to use it because 1. I notice a difference in the firmness of my skin and my makeup is going on so much smoother. 2. My skin is super sensitive and this product doesn’t break me out or feel harsh on my skin, which makes me think maybe the products in it are just a little smelly 3. I put my Fresh Rose Cream over it before bed to help the smell and for added moisture ( I have super dry skin so need to do this – checkout SkinCare Essentials if you have dry skin!).
Packaging
I love the bottle it comes in but the lid is a little fragile, it broke after the first week I was using it. Keep in mind I was traveling with it so my bag was getting tossed around. If you were keeping this at home on your vanity, I’m sure it wouldn’t be a problem.
Price
Let’s talk price! This product is a little pricey, but it’s also pretty comparable to other high end products that promise similar results. I think Kate Somerville products are definitely worth a little splurge sometimes, I’ve been a huge fan of ExfoliKate for years and it’s one of the best exfoliators I’ve used. I feel like my money goes a long way with Kate’s products because you only need a little bit of product each use. I’ve been using the same ExfoliKate for nearly a year now. It’s like it’s never ending!
Overall, if you’re looking for a good product to firm and smooth your skin and you’re not super sensitve to smells, try this!
