I moved to the Bay Area nearly 7 years ago with nothing but my clothes and whatever belongings I could fit in a Prius. I’ve slowly gathered furniture along the way and not all of it has looked cohesive. I’ve been in my current place for almost 3 years so I’ve started to remodel my room and finally make it my own. My home is an old Victorian built in the 70’s – it’s absolutely beautiful and I love the charm it has, but along with age comes discolored walls and not so attractive color schemes that haven’t been updated since the 70s. We’re talking green kitchen walls, blue skies, and clouds on the dining room ceiling, and a red shaggy carpet that I couldn’t stand to look at any longer.
Remodeling my bedroom has been my top priority and I’m so excited about the progress. Baby steps, right? I painted the walls grey, painted the trim a crisp white and changed out my rug, bed, and bench. I also tracked down these amazing curtains from Pottery Barn and I’m so obsessed with them. I’m looking to find the perfect chair to go in the corner of the room,and change out my bedding.
